É estranho pensar a imagem que temos de nós mesmos e a forma como nos "representamos" aos outros...

In 1937 Miró started work on a Self-Portrait. The strength of the final drawing influenced his decision to apply only a few very diluted colours.The revision, based on a principle of extreme reduction, occurred in 1960, when he decided to finish the work. Miró ordered a reproduction of the drawing, which is still visible in the completed painting. He simplified his troubled features by superimposing thick, rapid strokes. The unique, identifiable face is reinterpreted through the basic outline of a generic, universal physiognomy.
